GEA Projects in the News: 1164 River Avenue – Permits Filed

Permits have been filed at 1169 River Avenue! As previously mentioned, GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services along with commissioning and EGC services to this 19-story mixed-use building in the Bronx. The proposed 195-foot tall development is steps away from the 167th St subway station and will yield 242,726 sq. feet. Owned by Christopher Lacovara of Community Access, this steel-based structure will serve as a non-profit with supportive housing and social services for people with mental health concerns; complete with 245 residences, community facilities and commercial space galore! GEA Projects in the News: 70-74 Gansevoort Street on the Rise!

Construction update on Gansevoort Street! GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services to 70-74 Gansevoort St and recent photos acquired by YIMBY show the vertical construction progress on the commercial development! As part of the several buildings that are being redeveloped in this project, 70-74 Gansevoort has begun to rise over the neighborhood and once complete, it will stand 112 feet tall at eight stories high. This redevelopment has been in the making for several years due to conflict with a local preservation group but now construction reaches the third floor and the structure should easily top out sometime this spring! GEA Projects in the News: 145 President Street 50% Sold!

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services to the centrally located 31,650 sq. ft. Avery Hall development at 145 President Street in Carroll Gardens! Avery Hall has confirmed to Crain’s that about half of the units are already in contract at the 17-apartment condo building and included in that gratifying number are the project’s two penthouses, which cost around $1,800 per sq. ft. each. Avery Hall is also about to break ground on their biggest project to date with another property in Brooklyn so if 145 President Street is any indication of the success that is to come, big things, and even bigger condominiums, are on the horizon! GEA Projects in the News: “The Dime” Nears Its Peak!

“The Dime” is close to topping out! As previously mentioned, GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design and sustainability/LEED services to this 264-foot tall residential tower in Williamsburg! Located behind the historic Dime Savings Bank, the structure sits on a 50,000 sq. ft. site and will span over 350,000 sq. feet! Surely to become a focal point within the neighborhood once complete, the Dime is expected to top out at 23 stories over the next several weeks and construction is estimated to wrap-up around late 2019/early 2020! GEA Projects in the News: 186 Remsen Street Renderings Revealed!

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services at 186 Remsen Street in Downtown Brooklyn and new renderings have just been revealed! Permit applications have been filed with plans for an eight-story vertical expansion, but also in the updated proposal are façade alterations of the existing structure, a new crowning elevation and a 52 foot setback above the seventh floor. GEA Projects in the News: 30 East 31st Street – Windows Near Completion

Construction update at 30 East 31st Street in NoMad! GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services to this 40 story residential building. The windows have almost all been installed on the northern elevation and exterior metal panels continue to expand on the western side. As previously reported, this structure encompasses 88,000 sq. ft. and stands 479 feet tall. Completion is expected around the end of 2019! See more at NY Yimby!

GEA Projects in the News: Wegmans Comes to NYC!

Wegmans is coming to NYC! GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services to this 74,000 square-foot space that will require 500 local employees. Located on Flushing Avenue in the Admirals Row development for which GEA also provided MEP and sustainable design, the highly anticipated supermarket is expected to open this fall! GEA Projects in the News: 40 10th Avenue, NYC (Solar Carve) Facade is Complete!

The façade is complete at 40 Tenth Avenue – and it is stunning! GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services to this 12-story office building located right off of Highline Park. Its main feature is the chiseled, crystalline curtain wall that was engineered specifically to reflect the sun and eliminate the shadows cast onto the surrounding areas throughout the day. Because of the uniquely geometric façade, the workspaces will have nearly 16-foot high ceilings and there will be over 38,000 sq. ft. of outdoor space. GEA Projects in the News: 531-539 Avenue of the Americas – Renderings Revealed

A new rendering has been revealed for 531 Sixth Avenue! As previously stated, GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services to this forthcoming development which will now be 75,000 square feet. Compared to the renderings released in July 2018, the structure’s façade will now incorporate black and grey metal materials. Located in Southern Chelsea, this mixed-use structure will have retail space on the cellar and ground floor levels and residences on the second through twelfth floors. Demolition of the existing property has not yet begun to make way for this cantilevered building and no expected completion date has been officially announced by Gemini Rosemont. GEA Projects in the News: Corte LIC Nears Completion.

Corte, the 85-unit condominium in Long Island City, is nearing completion! GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services to this unique, Buenos Aires-inspired structure. Located on 44th Drive in Court Square, the building is nearing completion and apartment sales are underway! Units will “range from studio to three-bedroom units, with sizes between 400 and 1,350 sq. ft.” In addition to the warm, contemporary design of the interior, the building’s stacking design allows for more apartments to have private outdoor space. Natural light and Manhattan views are the two most central elements in this eight story residence and you can see it for yourself when occupancy begins in 2019!
