GEA Projects in the News: 70-74 Gansevoort Street Tops Out

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to the 6 story, 112 foot tall building in the Meatpacking District a.k.a 70-74 Gansevoort Street. The mixed-use office project will contain 43,000 Square feet of newly built space, with a clean modern design featuring tall windows and brick masonry that blends with the historical architectural landscape of the Meatpacking District. 70-74 Gansevoort Street, the tallest building on the parcel is expected to be finished next March.

Thousands of New Yorkers are going ballistic over this new opening waiting on line in the cold and rain. Some even mentioned having their calendars marked a year prior to the opening date! We weren’t kidding when we said mark your calendars. GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to the much anticipated and now open Wegmans!  It’s the five boroughs’ first outpost of the chain, which has 100 locations throughout New York and down the East Coast to North Carolina and routinely tops Consumer Reports’ annual list of the country’s best grocery stores. Wegmaniacs are ecstatic they no longer have to travel miles to grocery shop and already have their shopping lists ready. Some even plan to be there a couple of times a week. GEA Project Spotlight: Minnewaska State Park Visitor Center

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to the Minnewaska State Park Visitor Center. The Park which is great for hiking trails, bike riding, a workout or even just enjoying nature and its beautiful fall colors is expected to open in 2020. I think we all need to pay a visit!

GEA Projects in the News: 646 11th Avenue Rises to Its Midpoint.

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to the halfway completed 646 11th Avenue residential development in Hell’s Kitchen. The 12-story structure includes about 41 apartments with amenities including a bicycle storage, a pet washing station, a resident’s fitness center with a yoga studio, a children’s playroom, a rooftop outdoor swimming pool and roof deck, an outdoor dog run, and a greenhouse. The nearest subways are the A, C, and E trains underneath the Port Authority Bus Terminal and at 50th Street. The entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel is a short drive to the south down Eleventh Avenue. 30 East 31st Street, NYC

GEA Projects in the News: 30 East 31st Street Exterior Near Completion

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to the nearly completed residential tower in NoMad. The 479-foot tall tower tops out at 40 stories with amenities such as a residential lounge with a viewing garden, a private dining room with an en-suite catering kitchen, and a fitness center. Completion of 30 East 31st Street will likely occur sometime 2020. Read more on NY Yimby.

GEA Projects in the News: The Dime facade Near Completion

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to the nearly completed topped-out 23-story mixed-use complex also known as “The Dime” in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The new building rises behind the 111 year old landmark “Dime Savings Bank”. The 350,000 Sq foot complex includes rental units, commercial office space, parking and an outdoor seating area for office tenants and residents but that’s not all. This project also includes cool amenities such as a basketball court, a yoga room and a fitness center. What more could you ask for?? The Dime is expected to be completed at the end of 2019! GEA Projects in the News: 200 Kent Avenue Facade Work Completed

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to 200 Kent Avenue’s glass façade in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Work is being wrapped up on this six-story 83-foot tall development. The building includes a Trader Joes on the ground floor, a parking garage on the second level and on the third story an open-air terrace that faces the East River. StringBean Technologies: Changing The Game In Construction Field Reporting

GEA Consulting Engineers has been working with the emerging technology developer StringBean Technologies in creating a tool for the evaluation and reporting of commissioning and Special inspection site visits. The mobile technology has proved to be both a time and money saving tool, while increasing accuracy in reporting. It is a cross platform tool with a desktop web portal for service management that makes it easy to manage and process service calls from anywhere! Excavation has begun in Downtown Brooklyn at 22 Chapel! GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to this 20-story rental. This complex includes amenities such as a residential lounge, a party room, a fitness center, a children’s playroom, a swimming pool and an outdoor rooftop deck. 22 chapel is also known as  a commuter’s delight with easy access to the BQE and a number of subway lines such as the A, B, C, F, Q, R, 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains.
