Project Key Features

The Whin Charter School project encompasses the establishment of a new facility spanning approximately 49,944 gross square feet, situated at the specified address. With a specialized focus on music and performing arts, the school caters to students from Kindergarten through 5th grade, totaling approximately 325 students with two classrooms per grade. The project involves the transformation of an existing building, comprising approximately 29,976 square feet across three above-grade floors, with potential for a new partial cellar to be incorporated. New mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services will be installed to accommodate the school’s needs within the existing structure, while three additional levels, totaling approximately 19,968 square feet, will be added above the existing building, emphasizing that the structure will not exceed high-rise specifications.

The layout of the school includes various dedicated spaces to support its focus on music and performing arts. These spaces encompass a large Public Assembly area for performances, as well as specialized rooms such as music rooms, rehearsal rooms, science labs, media centers, theaters, offices, conference rooms, lounges, and nurse rooms. Notably, the building is designed to feature a cafeteria/warming pantry; however, the inclusion of a full kitchen, which would necessitate additional commercial exhaust systems, make-up air systems, and extensive plumbing for commercial kitchen appliances, may incur supplementary fees.

Overall, the Whin Charter School project aims to provide a comprehensive educational environment tailored to foster students’ artistic talents and academic growth. Through thoughtful design and meticulous planning, the facility will offer state-of-the-art amenities and functional spaces to support a diverse range of educational and extracurricular activities.
