GEA designed the MEP systems for a new state-of-the-art dance facility across from the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The facility houses administrative offices, company and guest dressing rooms, a physical therapy suite, an archive room, wardrobe storage, a lounge, two terraces, and various support facilities.
Key building features included a flexible performance space with retractable seating, several dance studios with specialized flooring, advanced acoustic treatments, and energy-efficient HVAC systems. The design integrated sustainable materials and advanced lighting controls.
GEA’s MEP design ensured the facility met the demands of a professional dance center, providing a comfortable, safe, and sustainable environment. The advanced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems supported the high-performance requirements of the dance studios and other specialized spaces, while ensuring energy efficiency and ease of maintenance.
