Project Key Features

GEA was responsible for providing comprehensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design and commissioning services for the construction of a six-story, 112-foot tall building located at 70-74 Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District. This mixed-use office project comprised approximately 43,000 square feet of newly built space, meticulously designed with a focus on clean modern aesthetics and functional efficiency. The architectural elements, including tall windows and brick masonry, were carefully selected to seamlessly integrate with the historical architectural landscape of the Meatpacking District, while ensuring optimal performance and occupant comfort.

As the tallest building on the parcel, 70-74 Gansevoort Street required precise coordination and implementation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. GEA’s expertise in these areas ensured the seamless integration of systems, meeting stringent technical requirements and industry standards. The commissioning process involved rigorous testing and verification to guarantee the functionality and efficiency of all systems, contributing to the successful completion of the project.

Completed in March 2020, 70-74 Gansevoort Street stands as a testament to GEA’s technical proficiency and commitment to excellence in engineering design. The project represents a harmonious blend of modern design principles and technical innovation, providing a functional and sustainable space that meets the diverse needs of its occupants while respecting the historical context of the surrounding environment.
