The project involved the tenant fit-out of the offices for the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) at Bronx Terminal Market (BTM), Bronx, New York. The space, previously occupied by Bed, Bath and Beyond, covered approximately 37,692 sq. ft. The scope of work included designing spaces for a Public Queue Area, Preliminary Testing, Interview and Hearing Rooms, Conference Rooms, Photo Booth, Server Rooms, Lunchroom, Locker Room, Public and Staff Restrooms, Storage Area, and Offices.

The project encompassed the design and layout of a central Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) distribution system for the entire space, including equipment, ductwork distribution, air devices, controls, and associated miscellaneous items as per the project development program. All mechanical work was detailed, including mechanical ventilation requirements such as supply, return, and bathroom exhausts, indicating size, location, and termination points as affected by the proposed scope of work.

Additionally, the design and layout of exhaust systems for the bathrooms, pantry area, and storage room were included as required. The project also featured the design and layout of supplementary HVAC systems to ensure the facility’s operation during after-hours and weekends.
