Project Key Features

The project involves the design of core and shell MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems for a groundbreaking $300 million, 780,000 square foot enclosed fashion mall, a notable addition to New York City’s retail landscape after nearly four decades. Situated at Prestige’s Bay Plaza Shopping complex, the state-of-the-art mall will include a 1,800 car parking garage, catering to the needs of both shoppers and visitors. With a new Macy’s and JC Penney as anchor tenants, the mall promises to offer a diverse range of retail experiences and amenities to its patrons.

This pioneering retail development is poised to transform the Bay Plaza Shopping complex into one of the largest shopping centers in New York City, boasting approximately two million total square feet upon completion. The mall’s strategic location and impressive lineup of tenants are expected to attract shoppers from across the city and beyond. With construction already underway, the project is on track to open its doors to the public by Spring 2014, marking a significant milestone in the city’s retail landscape and offering an unparalleled shopping experience to consumers.

As part of the design process, careful consideration is given to the implementation of state-of-the-art MEP systems, ensuring optimal functionality, efficiency, and sustainability throughout the mall’s core and shell. These systems play a crucial role in providing a comfortable and inviting environment for shoppers while meeting the operational needs of the facility. By integrating cutting-edge technology and best practices into the design, the project aims to set a new standard for retail developments in New York City, offering a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience for all who visit.
