Project Key Features

GEA provided MEP/FP design services for a residential loft conversion of approximately 73,555 square feet in an existing 7-story masonry building, with a proposed 5,400 square foot rooftop addition integrated into a solar panel array.

Key building elements included the restoration and adaptive reuse of the historic masonry structure, preserving its industrial character while transforming it into modern residential lofts. The rooftop addition was designed to complement the existing building’s architectural style, incorporating large windows and terraces to offer expansive views of the surrounding area. The integration of a solar panel array on the rooftop addition emphasized sustainability and energy efficiency, providing renewable energy to the building and reducing its environmental impact.

The interior spaces were designed to maximize natural light and maintain the building’s original industrial aesthetic, featuring exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and large windows. Modern amenities and high-end finishes were incorporated throughout the residences, blending contemporary comfort with historic charm. Additionally, the project included landscaped outdoor spaces and communal areas for residents, enhancing the overall living experience and fostering a sense of community within the building.
