The project consisted of the renovation of a 7-story building with a cellar, totaling approximately 35,000 gsf. This building was designed to serve as dormitory-style transient housing. The project also included the addition of a 2-story building on the adjacent lot, with parking on the ground floor and offices on the second floor.
GEA provided full MEP and FP services for the comprehensive fit-out of all areas within the buildings. This included the lobby, offices, cafeteria, conference rooms, TV rooms, lounges, nurse station, laundry, and sleeping rooms. The integration of these systems was critical in ensuring the functionality and comfort of the transient housing facility. The MEP design accounted for efficient heating, cooling, and ventilation tailored to the dormitory layout, while the fire protection systems were seamlessly incorporated to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
The added 2-story building also benefited from GEA’s MEP and FP expertise. The design for the new offices included state-of-the-art HVAC systems to maintain a comfortable working environment, and the parking area was equipped with adequate ventilation and lighting. This project showcased GEA’s ability to deliver comprehensive engineering solutions in complex renovation and new construction projects, ensuring all functional and safety needs were met.
