Project Key Features

GEA led the charge in providing MEP and Fire Protection Services for The Laney, a historic gem that underwent a comprehensive renovation. Originally crafted in 1929 by Architect Emery Roth, this iconic structure underwent a meticulous overhaul led by Peter Pennoyer Architects. Covering approximately 131,000 gross square feet, the renovation focused on enhancing 125 multifamily units while preserving the building’s architectural integrity.

With GEA’s technical expertise, the renovation incorporated cutting-edge solutions to meet modern standards of comfort and sustainability. Advanced mechanical systems, including water-source heat pumps and electric humidifiers, optimized energy efficiency and indoor air quality. GEA’s innovative approach integrated VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) Technology to provide precise heating and cooling control, ensuring optimal comfort for residents while reducing energy consumption.

In addition to MEP systems, GEA’s Fire Protection Services ensured the safety and compliance of The Laney. Through meticulous design and planning, GEA implemented state-of-the-art fire suppression systems and smoke detection mechanisms, providing residents with peace of mind. As The Laney underwent its transformation, GEA’s commitment to technical excellence ensured that the building not only met but exceeded the expectations of modern luxury living.
