GEA Projects in the News: 531 Avenue of the Americas Facade Underway!

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to 531 Sixth Avenue (AKA 101 West 14th Street) in Chelsea. This 13 story, 145-foot-tall building will consist of 80, 140sf. 54,520sf will be dedicated to residential use including 21 duplex units, with 5,380sf for two ground floor commercial tenants. Amenities include an outdoor rooftop terrace, a tenant lounge and fitness center on the second story, storage for 23 bicycles, a laundry room, and a second fitness room in the cellar. GEA Update: GEA Reopens Its Doors!

GEA is preparing to reopen our doors to our employees! We have and will continue to take the health risks of Covid-19 very seriously. To ensure that our employees feel the utmost level of safety and comfort in the office, areas within the GEA office space have been strategically protected with barriers to reduce the risk of transmission. We have also set up sanitizer stations throughout the office and provided refillable travel sanitizer bottles for commuting and on-site visits. GEA Projects in the News: Permits Filed for 2413 Third Avenue, Bronx

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to 2413 Third Avenue in Mott Haven, The Bronx. Permits have been filed for this 27 Story, 224,362 sf mixed-use building, consisting of residential and commercial spaces being 164,595 sf & 796 sf, respectively. The building will have 200 residences, most likely to be rentals. It will also include a cellar, 30 ft long rear yard and 81 enclosed parking spaces. Permits were filed this month, with the estimated date of completion not yet announced. See more at NY Yimby

1164 River Avenue, Bronx

GEA Projects in the News: 1164 River Avenue Renderings Revealed!

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to one of the largest forthcoming developments in the South Bronx. 1164 River Avenue is a 274,000 sf building that will consist of 250 rental units & 88,000 sf of lower-level commercial space. The building will top out at 17 stories or 181 ft tall with expected amenities that include storage facilities for 250 bicycles, a laundry room, recreational space & a 200- vehicle parking structure. This project is currently in pre-construction, with estimated date of completion not known at this time. Full Story at NY Yimby.

GEA Announcement: Anthony Hannigan Promoted to Associate Principal

Hailing from Stony Brook University with a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, he joined the firm in 2012, as a recent grad and began working on high profile projects, employing out-of-the-box design  methodologies and client-focused project management style.

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to the new building in Hell’s Kitchen expected to welcome residents in 2021. ‘The west’ a 12-story condo tower at 646 11th Ave will contain 219 condos with premium 3 bedroom spreads. Amenities will span 25,000 square feet and include a rooftop pool, a fitness center, a yoga studio, a children’s playroom, pet grooming stations, a communal kitchen, a greenhouse, and two guest rooms for short-stay visitors. With the foundation of the building coming to an end, the first floor is ready to stand. GEA Projects in the News: Courtyard by Marriott Opens Its Doors in the Hudson Yards

GEA is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection design and commissioning services to the Hudson Yards section of Midtown west or better yet the new Courtyard by Marriott at 461 West 34th Street. The 28-story building located near the Javits center will primarily be marketed used by the business community, conference attendees, and other corporate clients. Guest’s amenities include a business library with computers, a bar and full-service restaurant, a round-the-clock fitness center, laundry facilities, and 1,700 square feet of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 90 people.
