GEA Projects in the News: 145 President Street Has a New Design!

GEA is providing MEP/FP services to 145 President street- a 75 foot, 48,469 sf building. Community facility space for an urgent care will occupy the first floor. Residential space use will cover 31,545 sf. There will be three and four bedroom condos that will include two “garden residences” and two penthouse units. The building will have amenities such as: fitness and recreation rooms, and a shared roof terrace. There will also be storage for 14 bicycles and parking for 16 vehicles. Sales for this building will begin this summer, and completion is expected in 2018.

GEA Project in the News: 200 East 21st Street

Plans have been filed for a 20-story condominium building located at 200 East 21st Street expected to hold 65 condo units and a 7,200 sf ground-floor retail space.  GEA is proud to be partnering with Alfa Development and BKSK on this exciting project!  Check out the full article on “The Real Deal” at bit.ly/1oPfJCz.

GEA Makes the Coveted “Crain’s 100 Best Firms to Work For in NYC”

It is with great pride that GEA Consulting Engineers can now proclaim to be one of the “Best Places to Work in NYC”, by Crain’s New York. This year is the first submission for this honor, ranking #51 of the top 100, with an additional feat of being the highest ranking engineering firm in consideration. This is the second recognition for workplace appeal that GEA has earned this year, also ranking #33 on the “Zweig White Best Firms to Work For” list.

All professionals involved in the construction industry are planning to get on (it’s never too late!) the energy and sustainability train.

It is important to realize that energy and sustainability have already become their own trade, joining standard trades like Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, etc.

Energy and sustainability is an umbrella term that covers an array of design and construction practices including energy code, local laws, commissioning, incentives, Passive House, LEED, WELL and numerous other less mature standards.

MORE RENDERINGS FOR GANSEVOORT STREET REDEVELOPMENT IN THE MEATPACKING DISTRICT
