GEA Consulting Engineers GEA Goes Double-Platinum! GEA Consulting Engineers earns LEED platinum status on two of its high profile NYC projects: The Jefferson and WSP Park House; both taking advantage of storm water credits, a rare feature in urban settings!

GEA is providing MEP/FP services to 145 President street- a 75 foot, 48,469 sf building. Community facility space for an urgent care will occupy the first floor. Residential space use will cover 31,545 sf. There will be three and four bedroom condos that will include two “garden residences” and two penthouse units. The building will have amenities such as: fitness and recreation rooms, and a shared roof terrace. There will also be storage for 14 bicycles and parking for 16 vehicles. Sales for this building will begin this summer, and completion is expected in 2018.

All professionals involved in the construction industry are planning to get on (it’s never too late!) the energy and sustainability train.

It is important to realize that energy and sustainability have already become their own trade, joining standard trades like Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, etc.

Energy and sustainability is an umbrella term that covers an array of design and construction practices including energy code, local laws, commissioning, incentives, Passive House, LEED, WELL and numerous other less mature standards.

Last week, neighbors in the Meatpacking District expressed their
dissatisfaction about plans to redevelop a row of low-slung commercial buildings on Gansevoort Street between Washington and Greenwich streets, and the Villager offered a glimpse of how Aurora Capital hopes to transform the block, now YIMBY can reveal a full set of renderings showing the developer’s vision for this prominent corner near the High Line.
